Leander gets a boost

Leander is growing by leaps and bounds. Only 5 miles out of Austin, Leander is sets a new bench mark for growth. With I130 (tollway) and the soon to open Urban Communter Rail Park and Ride Leander is setting itself up for a bright future and investors are taking notice.

X Park gets critical environmental permit,
set for summer groundbreaking

The Texas X Park--the multifaceted recreational complex that could make Leander a major destination--has received an environmental permit from the U.S. Corps of Engineers. The permit was the last hurdle the project needed to secure its funding, paving the way for a groundbreaking on the $18 million first phase later this summer.

Leander Capital Investors, led by Matt Tolbert, is developing the 205-acre X Park that will include facilities for a skate park, climbing walls, BMX tracks and beach volleyball, just to name a few. The construction time on the first phase is expected to be eight months, setting the X Park up for a possible spring 2008 opening.
